As is well known, both nationally and internationally, an earthquake of magnitude 7.8 was registered on the night of Saturday 16th April 2016, at 18.58 local time, in several towns of Ecuador, causing serious damage in the provinces of Manabí, Esmeraldas and other towns on the Ecuadorian coast.

The REMAR SOS programme installs emergency humanitarian aid camps to help cover the urgent needs of those affected. The plan is to set up tents with mobile eat-in kitchens to serve hot food to the people and to offer moral and spiritual support. There will be rest areas with airbeds available, first aid kits, clothing, water, and other kinds of vital support.

Our method of operation is to provide a permanent service within these tents, for as long as the National and Local Government warnings continue activated. We shall continue our work until an atmosphere of peace and calm has been established in the whole area affected by the disaster.

THE NGDO REMAR ECUADOR IS MOBILIZING ITS EFFORTS THROUGH THE MECHANISM OF REMAR SOS (EMERGENCY HELP IN NATURAL DISASTERS), WHICH CAN REACH TO ANY PART OF THE WORLD. After the suffering caused by the earthquake disaster, we cannot remain passive. One of the favourite slogans of our fundamentally altruistic organization is that: “WE NEVER GROW WEARY OF DOING GOOD”. We are preparing a mechanism of emergency to send out a team of volunteer workers and humanitarian aid supplies to the region of Manabí, to offer crisis aid, as from this week, to those affected.

HUMANITARIAN AID HELP FROM REMAR ECUADOR SOS:

WE HAVE 18 VOLUNTARY WORKERS, PROVIDING A CONTINUOUS SERVICE.
5 VOLUNTARY SUPERVISORS.
