REINSERTION

Our businesses are concerned, above all, with the quality of life of their workers. Although they tend to be people with difficulties in adapting to a normal life style, through educational, moral and spiritual support they are prepared for reinsertion in society.
The majority of the people who are active in these businesses are living in the Remar centres and following a reinsertion programme: single mothers, people with problems, no financial means, no home of their own … but we also rely upon many volunteers who dedicate their efforts to bringing in funds and to making these businesses profitable to provide financial support for the social work in the Third World.
For this reason, in our businesses we prefer the reinsertion process to take place alongside “normalized” people, volunteers working alongside those with problems, to avoid the creation of stigmatized centres.
Amongst these priority groups for reinsertion, these people with problems, we can list the following:
- Those with physical, mental or sensorial handicaps.
- Those undergoing treatment for alcohol or narcotics detoxification.
- Those who are serving prison sentences in the centres as a legal alternative to prison.
- Immigrants, strangers.
- The unemployed who have no financial means.
- Women with family responsibilities.
- Ethnic minorities.
- Others in need of social reinsertion.
